Professional Biography

Dr. Chanyalew Seyoum Aweke specializes in development studies and serves as an Associate Professor at the School of Rural Development and Agricultural Innovation, Haramaya University. He has also served in research leadership roles and currently supports MERL and business development.

His research areas include food security, food systems, agriculture and nutrition linkages, agroecology, rural livelihoods, smallholder agriculture commercialization, technology adoption, climate change, and agricultural systems.

At MDC, Dr. Chanyalew contributes expertise in food systems, MERL, rural livelihoods, and research-for-development design.
